This page provides solutions for when the RFID is not being read.

STEP 1. Check Device Specifications

Please check if the device supports RFID reading. Check the label on the back of the device.
The RPN-B model does not support RFID reading.

STEP 2. Check 'Smart Card Reader' in 'Device Manager'

Verify that the smart card reader for reading electronic passports (RF chip) is connected.
If the smart card reader is not connected, reconnect the device and check again, or try a different PC.

STEP 3. Check Services

If the 'Smart Card Reader' is detected in 'Device Manager' but RFID is still not being read, follow these steps:

  1. Go to 'Services' - 'Smart Card' and set as follows:
    • Startup type: Automatic / Service status: Running
  2. Set 'Certificate Propagation' as follows:
    • Startup type: Disabled / Service status: Stopped

STEP 4. Install Secunet License

If Steps 1-3 have been checked and the RFID is still not being read, verify the Secunet License installation.
